You remember "itsy bitsy spider" dont you? A rhyme for the moral of perseverance eh? :) ... but a fun one, especially for the kids who have no idea what the spider is crazy about. :) ...
My kids love the rhyme too. Among the two, Daya sure has the natural sense of humor. He knows to poke fun. This is inborn. It can never be taught. I clearly understand that now. He knows what provokes people, what is funny and how to combine the two. He knew it when he was two.
Latest such fun song is this spider song which goes on to "washed the mommy out" ... and its absolutely lovely to watch him madly giggle singing it. It made me think its almost true though. Rain or shine, something washed most of the mommy role out of my life. Had been mommy mommy mommy for quite a while. It feels like I am in a new phase. I can almost sense beginnings of friendships with my children. Too early eh? But still you know I dont feel like trying very hard to be a mommy person anymore. I feel like they are three and I have been promoted.
They have grown up. GROWN up. A LOT. I am not able to catch up on the blog. They talk a lot of sensible stuff. When it comes to logical reasoning in conversation and problem solving through action the clear inborn potential seems to favor Divya. We call her the engineer! We are almost afraid of her ability to logically relate. No kidding with her for sure! :) ...
The sibling relationship between them is blossoming more and more into fun colors these days. I can clearly see how much Daya wants Divya to play with him. He would even cry if she isnt listening to a talk he starts. It is hilarious and endearingly sad. I sometimes see Divya is bugged or tired, so I tried to tell Daya "okay Daya mommy listening, tell mommy" ... He will push me out and cry "mommy divya not talking to me" after a few tears the princess heart will melt and in her own childish tone she would say "okay daya, I am listening now, tell me" like a grandmother.
Daya will enthusiastically start "Look there Divya, a yellow digger" and they will giggle together. Well lets not go to moments when they almost kill each other and snap the hair off each others head. Those are known sibling stuff!!! :)
They say a lot of sorry and please and thank you. But they cant count 1 to 10 anymore. Canadian system doesnt care about that looks like. They can eat on their own and do many stuff on their own. Some western parents look at us strangely when we put the shoes on for them as if it is "Dangerous patronizing act!" For god sake they are only three why cant I put the shoes on for them! :) But then I am really happy they are independent.
The best of all ... winter is over. winter is over. our first winter in canada is over. Complete fluke of a warm weather this spring. Yesterday was 20C and today 19C. No idea what the crazy weather is all about. But loving it!
My weight. Dangerously starting to rise beyond 65. Still trying very hard to keep it barely there - no hope of ever going down.
Got the job extended to September. Had a lot of fun at work lately. A lot of new stuff. Learning and doing. Life is good and adventurous in many ways.
PS: I have solved the Hanuman modeling puzzle. I couldnt believe how on earth Daya figured out to arrange those things in that particular order with Hanuman in mind. But now I know his creativity is in interpretation. He is able to do it a lot. Should we call it imaginative? not Creative as in create something based on an idea, but to imagine structures and forms from things that exist. And he has figured out that I appreciate it. So now when he accidentally pees (like when he gets angry, it still happens! - he literally gets pissed!) he will look at the carpet and with fear and tear filled eyes he will try to sound enthusiastic and tell me "Mommy look its a dinosaur, mommy look its a mango" yes on the design of the wet pee in the carpet while I stand like a bathrakali with hands on the hip and fire coming out of my eyes like mighty mahadeva. Parenting is hilarious I tell ya.
