You know the story perhaps - I learnt it recently from a facebook friend ... That in Chithambaram Chenthanar is the one credited with the kali eating concept - supposedly he was so poor he could only afford keppai (indian millet) kali to a Siva devotee (which was Lord Shiva himself!) that day ... But then online you get many versions of thiruvathirai kali - my mothers version used to be sweet too ... rice and jaggery kind ....
In our house the new Chef, had bought quinoa (ofcourse south american influence on us!) the healthy millet of Mexico and South American native Indians ... and he decided that he would make payasam/pudding with it today for lunch ... He put brown sugar (vellam) to cooked quinoa and my kids are having a fantastic time with it ... Both making him super happy saying "daddy super payasam daddy and thank you daddy" - he is floating on air just like Chenthanar in Chithambaram on Arudra Dharisanam day! :)
For us, we mixed quinoa with mixed dhal we had cooked yesterday (mung, toor and lentil) and poured the remaining saravana bhavan sambar from yesterday night!!! and it tastes awesome like bisebelabath! :) ...
Well he also made brussel sprouts - baked with oil and pepper on an alumunium tray in the oven! I was so hungry I was eating it whole happily and finished it off too! :)
Now I have to do some kali dance to digest it all and get the high sugar effect on my kids! :)

Pls post brussel sprouts recipe if possible.I have tried 2-3 recipes but somehow I don't like the taste at all.But the nutrition profile makes me want to eat it.
Dear Anony: I listened to prax and I am typing this following his adaptation of net recipe - Put two table spoon sesame oil (nallennai) instead of olive oil if you are from south india, and pepper and salt to taste along with the whole brussel sprouts together in a zip locker bag ... now shake the bag very well so that the oil and spice coating happens ... Put it on a baking tray (in our house we only have disposable aluminium trays we buy at local grocery) ... Bake at 425 degree for 15-20 minutes! Done! I just ate them up as is - one by one like veggie laddoos - but I couldnt eat the base of it - too hard - but the leafy side was yummy - the outer most somewhat crisp and slightly browned outer layer can be removed if you dont like it - sometimes thats tasty too! Too much sulfur content in brussel sprouts I realized, so a few like 4 or 5 is good for a day!!! :) ...
